We Had A Surprise This Morning!

When we arrived at school this morning we were VERY excited to see that our chrysalises had hatched!  We then wondered very quickly where the butterflies were ......the search was on........but not for long! All 5 were hiding on the window sills, hoping to go outside to lay their eggs.  



We quickly sang them the 'Fuzzy Wuzzy Caterpillar' Song and let them go outside.

Assembly Sharing

We were very clever and brave today when we shared at assembly our butterfly song and life cycle art.  Mrs Ray was very proud of us.

Bubbles!

Yesterday we had some fun with bubbles as we have been reading a shared book called 'Bubbles'

Tomorrow we will write about playing with bubbles.

We have Chrysalis!!!!



First we saw them go into a 'J' shape for a day or so.


Then we watched them start wiggling their skin off until it dropped and we were left with a chrysalis.


We wonder how long it will take until the turn into a butterfly?

For writing yesterday, we put a small, red butterfly into water and we had to guess what might happen to it......here are our guesses:

Swimming Fish

We are really clever swimmers in Room 2 and have been practicing on Monday's and Wednesdays.....see:

Caterpillars

We are learning about caterpillars and butterflies and guess what????   We have some swan plants with eggs on them!!! 






The next day we came to school and there was baby caterpillars!!!! Very exciting.




We wonder what will happen next???
